Extended Portrait
(Feb. 2026)

Feb. 2, 9, 16 & 23, Monday Nights at the Campbell Studio.

Creating a portrait is a challenging subject many artists strive to capture.  It is essential that you give yourself time to adjust, correct and develop a portrait.  All four sessions will be used to create a portrait from a photo reference of your choice.  Work in black and white using your preferred medium (oil, acrylic, graphite, charcoal, etc.).  Slow down and focus on building the shapes, values and relationships that are needed to bring your portrait to life.

The longer we focus on something, the more we notice and begin to understand.  If you are interested in highly refining your portrait, or if you want to build off of what you learn by adding color and/or switching to paint, double your time by continuing with the Extended Portrait II that follows this class in March.
