Drawings come to life on toned paper! Learn to create luminous light and dimensional form by adding both lights and darks to a mid-value. Train your eye to see accurate values and learn to group similar value shapes. Those new to drawing will be amazed at how quickly you can create an illusion of light and dimensional form.
Build a foundation of drawing skills in charcoal on tone that can be applied to a variety of drawing and painting media. Explore changing the color or tone of your paper to influence the mood of your drawing. The darker the paper, the more you can dramatically draw the light. The possibilities on tone are endless!
