The Art of Seeing
(Aug. 2026)

Aug. 10, 17, 24 & 31, Monday Nights at the Campbell Studio.

Observation is a skill at the core of representational art. The longer we focus on something, the more we notice and begin to understand. This class will focus on specific stages of the artistic process: drawing & measurement, light & shadows, transitions & details.

Each session will build on the previous week regardless of whether you choose to create a painting or a highly rendered drawing. Accuracy and realism is often the result, but it is not the goal. Learn how to break down any subject from life into simple, accurate shapes, values, and relationships and develop the artwork as a whole. You will be amazed at what you notice when you dedicate your time to thoughtful observation!
