Watercolor Fundamentals (Aug. 2024)

 Aug 8, 15, 22 & 29,  Thursday Mornings at B.Marie's Atelier & Gallery.

Do you feel intimidated by watercolor? Maybe you’ve heard it's really challenging. Watercolor can be a challenge, but it can also be forgiving and a lot of fun. Watercolor pigments flow and settle in ways that create beauty all on their own. Learn the fundamentals of watercolor so you can focus on the fun! Watercolor has tremendous potential for bold, expressive use. It can also be layered and built up gradually. The most essential part is to build light, medium, and dark values regardless of your intended style. Learn how to encourage wet into wet washes and control the boundaries by working wet over dry. Soften unexpected edges or lift out colors once dry. Whether building your skills or trying watercolor for the first time, all are welcome.
