Practical Perspective
(Sep. 2024)

Sep. 5, 12, 19 & 26, Thursday Mornings at B.Marie's Atelier & Gallery.

Perspective drawing can get complicated, but it doesn't have to. Most often, we just need a basic understanding of perspective to help us make sense of what we observe and learn strategies to correct errors in our drawings and paintings. In this class, you will learn the basic fundamentals of perspective and how that perspective applies to still-life objects, landscapes, architecture, and the world in general.

You will learn to build perspective drawings from scratch using a set of rules. You will also learn to identify the rules of perspective by working backward from a photograph or from a still life. Learning to recognize the rules of perspective when working from a variety of subjects is part of what makes understanding perspective such a practical skill for an artist.
