Are you eager to explore the delicate beauty of clouds? Whether you're looking to get started or deepen your understanding of the pastel medium, you'll learn the techniques needed to capture the ever-changing nature of the sky, from soft, wispy clouds to dramatic storm clouds, all in rich, vibrant colors.
No experience is needed if you are new to pastel. We'll explore atmospheric effects, light, and color that will bring the fleeting beauty of your cloud formations to life!

Instructor: Christy Olsen
Format: Lecture & demonstration, studio practice with individual feedback or one-on-one instruction.
Level: No experience necessary. Absolute beginner, beginner to intermediate, all levels are welcome!
Medium: Pastel Medium may include soft pastels, hard pastels, conté crayons, PanPastels®, or pastel or conté pencils—any are welcome!
Techniques: How to layer colors, blend, and build texture to create realistic or expressive clouds that align with your aesthetics. You'll also be introduced to techniques, tools, and surfaces that work well with the medium.
Materials: All materials will be provided. If you have any pastels or pastel pencils, bring what you already have.
