The Art of Responsive Drawing (Jan. 2024)

Jan 6, 13 & 20, Saturday Afternoons at the TPS Art Center.

Learn a new and innovative approach! Rather than meticulously planning every detail, responsive drawing encourages spontaneity and embraces the unpredictability of the creative process. It isn't about replicating reality with precision; instead, it's about interpreting and responding to the subject in a personal or uninhibited way.

Learn through guided exercises to integrate shapes with the background using a variety of edges. Experiment with quick gestural strokes commonly used to capture moment, energy, or emotion. Break away from traditional mediums, various materials will be provided to try. Embrace the joy of exploration and discover your own unique potential!
