The Power of Color

We love color, don’t we? Rich, vibrant, complex, or subtle color choices can make a piece sing or fall flat. Have you attempted daring color choices in the past but were unsatisfied with the result? Learning a few tricks will allow you to explore color with confidence.

Choose expressive colors that work for you by learning some of the advantages of color theory. Create structure through value relationships so that you can play with a variety of color combinations and experiment with unexpected color choices. Learn how to create emphasis through color and how color can change the feeling within your artwork. Harness the power of color!

Meets: Monday Nights, 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Dates: Sep. 11, 18 & 25
Location: TPS Art Center (2447 N. Los Altos Ave., Tucson, Arizona 85705)

Instructor: Lisa Larrabee
Format: Lecture & demonstration, studio practice with individual feedback, and one-on-one instruction.
Level: Beginners with some prior experience, intermediate or advanced, are welcome!

Medium: Open to any medium. Studies may be done in pastels or colored pencils.
Technique: Using value as a foundation for color experimentation.
Materials: The instructor will email the materials list before the first session.
