Drawing with a Touch of Color

Color is exciting and has a significant impact.  Adding a touch of color will enhance your drawings!  It may be easy to dive in with a full range of colors, but the results can be frustrating without some tips or guidance.  Choosing colors is a skill that anyone can learn.  Explore the effects and techniques of gradually introducing color into your drawings.

Build your confidence by using a limited set of colors and working on a variety of colored paper. Learn how colors play off each other to invoke the viewer, conveying a broad range of emotional responses from calm to energized.  Learn how colors play off each other to create a range of feelings from calm and comforting to energized and exciting!  Enhance your drawings by adding a touch of color!

Meets: (4) Mondays 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Dates: Nov 7, 14, 21 & 28, 2022
Location: TPS Art Center (2447 N. Los Altos, Tucson, Arizona 85705)

Instructor: Lisa Larrabee
Format: Lecture & demonstration, studio practice with individual feedback or one-on-one instruction.
Level: All levels are welcome!  No experience is needed.  Learn to draw and/or refine your skills.

Medium: Charcoal +/or pastel (sticks/pencils)
Technique: Drawing with limited colors on toned/colored paper
Materials: The instructor will email the materials list before the first day of class.
